Honoring Our Own: A Legacy of Service
This short story honors those who walked the same streets, went to the same schools, and came from the same neighborhoods as us—ordinary people who chose extraordinary service.
In times of war and peace, they’ve stepped forward—not to be remembered, but to protect what must never be forgotten. For generations, our sons and daughters have answered the call—not for medals or recognition, but because service runs deep in our spirit. Because defending what matters most—our families, our freedom, our barrio—has always been our mission.
Some never made it home. They fought in every major conflict, earning Bronze Stars, Silver Stars, and Purple Hearts. But beyond the decorations, they carried something greater: an unshakable belief that freedom, though not free, is worth defending.
Through our work, we preserve their stories—those who came before us, those we’ve lost, and those who continue to serve today.
With your support, we can honor more of these heroes by placing them at Mt. Soledad, where their names and legacies will stand in stone for future generations to remember.
