Sergeant First Class Alfred G. Gonzalez served with valor and leadership as a Rifle Platoon Sergeant in the Korean War, earning two Battle Stars for his actions in some of the conflict’s most intense battles including Line Jamestown, Outpost Warsaw, and the Hook Sectors.
After returning home, SFC Gonzalez overcame the quiet struggles many veterans face, building a life rooted in resilience and purpose. He earned a degree, raised a family, and dedicated 26 years to General Dynamics as an engineer.
His service continued through decades of volunteerism with the 82nd Airborne Association Color Guard, honoring fellow veterans across the country with dignity and respect.
In 2025, he became the first honoree of the Plaques for Warriors program a living tribute to a life of courage, commitment, and service beyond the battlefield.
